Hi crafty friends! The newest MAGNOLIA BLOSSOM Card Kit is finally available for purchase!!

The Magnolia Blossom Card Kit includes:

  • Magnolia Blossoms Clear Stamp Set

  • Magnolia Blossoms Die-namics

  • 5 Sheets of Watercolor Paper

  • 1 Extreme Black Ink Cube, which is perfect for both alcohol and water based coloring

And now, let's take a peek of my project, that features the new kit!

Flowers are always perfect for elegant cards, and this is what I created. It is a really simple card, but I enjoyed the process.

I wanted to do some no-line coloring, so I started stamping the image using some Distress Ink in Antique Linen: if you haven't any other no-line ink, this one is simply perfect. I used the watercolor paper included in the kit, as I planned to do some watercoloring using Distress Inks.

I then started watercoloring: I used the wet on wet technique for the flowers and I simply used two colors: Victorian Velvet and Dried Marigold, which has a beautiful orange touch.

For the branches and the smallest leaves, I used the wet on dry technique with Vintage Photo, Antique Linen and Peeled Paint.

As always, when I do no-line coloring both with alcohol and watercoloring, I added many details (especially on edges) using some coordinated Polychromos pencils.

To complete my card, I die cut the central panel using the second largest A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX set and I bronze heat embossed the sentiment.

I then matted the whole scene using a piece of 4.25"x5.5" Neenah Desert Storm cardstock.

I really hope you will like the result!

Hi friends and happy Saturday!

Today I'd like to share with you one of my latest cards, made with Hello Bluebird products.

I've recently seen a Reel on Instagram by Sandy Allnock that inspired me to create this scene: I really loved her background and I wanted to recreate it.

This little girl from Seaside Girls stamp was perfect, so I stamped her on a piece of 4"x6" Transotype Perfect Coloring paper. I used some Memento Black ink, which is copic friendly, but I removed a bit of ink on her legs, in order to have a lighter border (as they are underwater).

I then started coloring using my beloved markers (see below for colors): on scenes like this one, I usually start from the background, because I am not sure of the result. If I like how it comes out, I'll also color the other stamped images. I started from the sky, then moved to the sea (firslty with lighter lines, then moved to darker ones) and the small island with palms. I also added some white gel pen lines to create waves and I was in love with the result, so I colored the gilr too. I used deeper and richer colors for her, as she was the main protagonist of my scene.

I then moved to the sentiment: i like to customize sentiments using die cuts that coordinates to the colors of my scene. I took a piece of white cardstock and colored it using BV29 - BV17 - BV13 - BV20 (to match the girl's dress) and I die cut the "friend" word, using the Hello Friend die. I die cut three times and glue them together to create some depth. I also stamped the rest of the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

When I was done, I matted the scene using white cardstock and a piece of Lawn Fawn - Really Rainbow Scallops patterned paper.

I really hope you will like the result, thanks for stopping by!

Hi friends and welcome to another Weekly Sketch Challenge!

Below you’ll find Sketch #545. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week’s sketch and be sure to link your project to the MFT blog for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher.

And here it is my inspiration, featuring Let's Curl Up stamp set.

I turned the sketch to create a horizontal scene. I firstly stamped some of the greenery of the set on a piece of watercolor paper, using some no-line coloring ink. On a different piece of paper, I also stamped the fox. I then colored everything, using Distress Inks. I usually prefer Copic coloring, because water tecniques are out of my comfort zone. But, I really enjoy watercoloring, I found it relaxing. For the background, I used the wet on wet technique, as I wanted softer edges. I also did some wet on dry to color the leaves, which are more detailed. I die cut the background panel using the first largest A2 Stitched Rectangle Set 2.

I then moved to the protagonist of the scene, the fox. I love coloring foxes! I mainly used distress inks in Rusty Hinge, with some Walnut Stain for the shadows and I think they are a good option for foxes. With a black fineliner, I added the eyes and the nose. At the end, I die cut it using coordinating dies.

For my sentiment, I used the Bitty Hugs & Kisses, which is really helpful because it has many sentiments for many occasions. As I knew the fox would have covered the central part, I white heat embossed the two parts with a space between them. I the fox to the sentiment and I used foam tape to add to the previous background panel.

To complete the card, I matted the scene using a 4,25"x5,5" Poppin' Polka Dot patterned paper.

I really hope you will like it and be sure to check the MFT blog to see all the other DT's creations.
