Hi friends and welcome back to another June MFT Vault Release countdown!

I know many of you were sad to read that the Birdie Brown line has discontinued, but I think we all were so excited to hear that the whole Birdie Brown line will be re-released during this one and the following valut releases too.

The Vault has opened and those are the sets that are featured in the DT creations today:

  • Birthday Bears Stamp Set

  • Birthday Bears Die-namics

  • Birthday Chicks Stamp Set

  • Birthday Chicks Die-namics

  • Penguins in Paradise Stamp Set

  • Penguins in Paradise Die-namics

The Vault release will include 14 stamp sets and will be available on Tuesday, 22nd, at 10am.

And this is my inspiration, that features Penguins in Paradise stamp set.

I love those penguins so much! They really make me smile every single time I look at them!

I had the idea to create a surfing scene, as those critters are enjoying a small vacation. I firstly stamped the penguin with the icicle (being sure not to apply ink on the icicle) at the centre of my Transotype Perfect Coloring paper and I drew the surfin' table. When I do copic colored scenes, I usually start from the background, and I usually color on a larger piece. I searched some surfin' waves references on the net and I started applying ink. For background like this, it is important to have brush nibs, because the result is really better. I started from lighter colors, creating this semi-round wave, and then added many layers of colors using darker ones. I then used a mid-tone to create the ocean horizon and a very light blue for the sky.

After coloring the penguin, his adorable swimsuit and the surfin' table, I wasn't satisfied because the wave didn't look realistic at all. I needed to add the white foam, and I thought I could have used many dots with the white gel pen. But then, I tried some Copic Opaque White with sponge daubers: the result was exactly what I wanted! I added some foam at the top of the wave and behind the surfin' table...and the scene completely transformed.

To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment with some Versafine Onyx Black ink and cut the panel to 4,5"x4,5", then matted the scene twice, using two larger pieces of Smooth White and Black Licorice cardstock. Hope you like the final result!

Are you ready for some other Birdie Brown products?!

I know many of you were sad to read that the Birdie Brown line has discontinued, but I think we all were so excited to hear that the whole Birdie Brown line will be re-released during this one and the following valut releases too.

The Vault has opened and those are the sets that are featured in the DT creations today:

  • The Whole Herd Die-namics

  • Green Pastures Stamp Set

  • Green Pastures Die-namics

  • Hog Heaven Die-namics

  • Saddle Up & Celebrate Stamp Set

  • Saddle Up & Celebrate Die-namics

The Vault release will include 14 stamp sets and will be available on Tuesday, 22nd, at 10am.

And this my inspiration, that mixes and matches The Whole Herd and Green Pastures stamp sets.

One of the things I love the most about Birdie Brown, is that the sets mix and match perfectly.

As I wanted to do some no-line coloring, I firstly stamped the little pig, the hen and the chick, cause I wanted them in the foreground. Then I masked the pig (I use Judikins masking roll) and I stamped the girl too.

And now, I was ready to start coloring. As always, I started from the background, as I wanted to be sure to create the scene. I wanted my protagonist to be inside of a barn, with the light coming from the left door; I colored everything with copics (see below for combos). I then moved to my protagonist, which are copic colored too.

When everything was done, I cut the panel to 4"x5,5" and I matted it twice, firstly with a slightly bigger white piece, and then using the Stripe Splash paper pad in orange, to match to the scene.

To complete the card, I added one of the sentiments of The Whole Herd, using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Hi BRI friends, Sara here!

I am back with a new card, inspired by the June BRI Mood Board Challenge.

When I first saw it, I didn’t know what to do but then…I saw an Hawaian shirt on a tv programme and I had my inspiration! It had black, blue, coral and yellow leaves, and it was perfect for the BRIMOOD board! LOL

So, this is my inspiration!

I looked through my crafty stash and this Sunny Studio – Silly Sloths stamp came out: they were perfect for the scene I had in mind. I stamped many of the critters of the set, I only did a bit of masking on the upper left sloth that lies on the other sloth’s back. I also stamped some hibiscus. I then hand drew many different tropical leaves, to set my scene.

I started to color the background, with a ligh yellow: I only wanted a yellow gradient tone on the bottom part. I then colored the sloths and the leaves. As I wanted to respect the BRIMOOD board, I mixed dark blue, teal and yellow. And I love because I also get some green shades, mixing the previous colors.

I then moved to my sentiment: I always love to mix stamped parts to die cut words, I think this really “complete” the card. I took a piece of Lawn Fawn Guava cardstock and shaded it using regular mini Distress Ink in Festive Berries. I die cut the “BELATED” letters from the colored cardstock using the Hello Bluebird Jane Small Alpha die…I realized I loved the negative word more than the single letters, so I attached the cardstock strip at the top and completed the sentiment stamping happy and birthday words from the same stamp set.

I then matted everything using black cardstock.

I really love how it turned out, I think this palette could be perfect for a masculine card. Hope you like it!

Hugs from Italy!
