Are you ready for a new MFT Release Countdown?

It's that time of the month again and today it is the first day of previews. The release will be live on January 11th at 10am EST.

The Season of LOVE has officially started and the release is jam packed with everything you need to celebrate it!

Today I have a really simple card, made using one of the "Straight from the Heart" stamp set.

I really love sentiment sets, I think they really catch the eye without adding a lot. That's why I wanted to keep my card clean and simple, with a really easy alcohol ink background. I really love alcohol inks effect, but I always feel that I "can't control" the result, so I'm always in panic. I started with a larger piece of Yupo Paper and I applied Pool, Wild Plum and blending solution until I was satisfied. I added a lot of layers, I mixed the colors...and that's thefinal result. I also decided to die cut the panel using the second largest A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set1.

I gold heat embossed the sentiment at the bottom (and I must admit that my plastic sheet warped a bit) and I matted the panel using a slightly larger Gold Shine Cardstock.

I then realised I wanted to add some hearts to my scene, so I used the "Begging to See You Soon" die set, which has some hearts die cut and I layered a Gold Sparkling heart under a white one.

To complete the card, I stamped the newest "Never Ending Love Background" stamp on an A2 piece of White Cardstock using MFT Natural Hybrid ink pad. And here's the final result!

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it. Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the other product previews and for even more ideas and inspiration, please visit the My Favorite Things YouTube channel.

Hi crafty friends, Merry Christmas everyone!

Today it’s my turn on the Butterfly Reflection Ink blog and I’m here to show my inspiration for the December BRI Mood Board.

This is a perfect palette for Winter cards, I really love those cold colors mixed with silver. But since today it’s THAT day, the most important of the Holiday Season, I wanted to create a Christmas card. And this is my inspiration!

I must admit I recently saw a bokeh patterned paper that was my inspiration for this card. So I couldn’t resist to create my own version, using the colors of the Mood Board. I used blending brushes and Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Pine Needles and Shabby Shutters. I applied a layer of colors, with a really soft hand. I then used some nesting dies to create circles with masking paper and I applied a few, added another layer of color (image 1) and then I added other circles (image 2: some of them overlap). I repeated the process until I was happy with the effect.

I then took the Pretty Pink Posh Layered Bokeh Stencil and I removed some color using a wet wipe (image 3) and I splattered some water to create small drops. The fourth image shows you the final background when all the masking paper was removed. To complete the background, I die cut it using the largest of the Trinity Stamps Modern Embossed Rectangle.

When the background was done, I started working on the images and the layout of the card. I stamped some of the ornaments from the Sunny Studio Stamps “Deck the Halls” and I colored them using copic markers. I then die cut them using coordinating dies.

I also die cut three times the Pretty Pink Posh “Merry Christmas Script” die to create dimension to my sentiment.

For the pine branches I used a Hello Bluebird “Holly and Pine” dies, but you can skip this passage. I just wanted to add some silver shine, so I die cut the branches from some Silver Glittery Cardstock and some vellum paper.

I glued everything down using a combination of foam tape and liquid glue, in order to create dimension. I also added some blue and white twine to “attach” the ornaments.

As a finishing touch, I added some Silver Diamonds here and there, they really catch the light and I matted the whole scene using a larger piece of white paper.

And now, since it is my last project of the year, I just want to thank you all for the support. I really hope to have inspired you playing with the mood boards, I hope you will like this project too! Thanks so much Vanessa for giving me this opportunity!

I wish you and your families a wonderful Holiday Season and all the best for the upcoming year. Merry Christmas everyone!

Hi BRI friends, Sara here!

I am back with a new card, inspired by the November BRI Mood Board Challenge.

This is a perfect palette for Fall cards and I really love those colors. But, since I am in a more “Christmas mood”, I challenged myself to create something different and use this color combo for a Christmas card…and this is the result!

I love those “Caroling Critters” from Pretty Pink Posh, they are so sweet! I stamped them on a piece of Lawn Fawn Fog cardstock, it’s a light cold grey perfect for my background and then I colored everything with copics. I also hand drew the street lamp on the right, I wanted a cozy scene. Since it is a light colored cardstock, the copic colors are really similar to “reality”, but in this way I didn’t have to add the sky. I only used a darker grey at the bottom, to create the contrast for the bushes. I used a white UNI POSCA pen to create the snow ground and I also added some white snow in the sky. The small snowflakes comes from the Pretty Pink Posh “Holiday Greetings” stamp set, I used Hero Arts Unicorn White to stamp them.

I then started working on the sentiment, which belongs to the Pretty Pink Posh “Holiday Scripts”. I used Bronze embossing powder on white cardstock and I die cut it using coordinating dies. I really love those scripts, which are very versatile! I also completed the sentiment stamping “Season’s” directly on the scene. I used an oval nesting die to die cut the scene and the Sparkling Gold matt behind.

I only needed a background panel to add behind the scene I created, so I took a 4”x6” piece of white cardstock and I stamped many snowflakes (they come from Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Greetings and Snowman Friends) using Distress Oxide in Pumice Stone. I added the oval scene and I cut the excess at the edges.

To complete the card, I also added a 4,5”x6” piece of Lawn Fawn Rainforest cardstock which is quite similar to “Pine Grove” of the palette.

I’m in love of the final result! See you next month for the last BRI Mood Board Challenge of the Year!
