Hi friends and welcome back to another weekly Wednesday Sketch Challenge!

Below you’ll find Sketch #602. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week’s sketch and be sure to link your project to the MFT blog for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher.

And here's my inspiration, featuring the Birdie Brown Perfect Party Animals.

As soon as I saw this shetch, I knew I would have used one of those "Pictures" sets.

I firstly drew the sketch with a pencil on an A2 panel of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I partially stamped the four scenes. I used Memento Black ink because I planned to color with copics and I inked the stamps with care because I didn't want to stamp the square lines around the scenes. I then took a black fineliner and I drew the lines as the sketch requested, I also completed the little banner flags that were on the gorilla scene. I colored everything with copics (you can find the full list below), I really love the bright and festive palette I choose.

I then moved into the sentiment, I really loved the "birthday" script from Happy Happy Birthday Stamp, which I stamped with the Tropical Teal Dye Ink Cube. I also completed the sentiment with some words from the Bitty Birthday Wishes. And here's the finished result!

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it. Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the other product previews and for even more ideas and inspiration, please visit the My Favorite Things YouTube channel.

The MFT Vault has just opened and it is full of Birthday themed products!

Birthday cards are one of my most used, so it is always a good idea to have different types of birthday products. And I can tell you the ones included in this Vault Release are perfect for any person! I usually love coloring critters, but when I have to celebrate my friends, my parents or some older people, I don't know what to use. And that's why I loved all the products released here! They are perfect for "graphical" cards, for clean and simple card and so on.

Today I have a shaker card to show you, featuring the newest Celebrate Speech Bubble Die-namics.

I wanted a really simple design to enhance this new Celebrate Sppech Bubble Die. I decided to create a shaker with it, so I needed to choose the pattern behind. I planned to create a custom pattern (I recently fell in love with this technique) so I looked into my cardstock stash and I selected some colors I wanted to use. I went for Maroccan Spice (MFT), Butterscotch (MFT), Sticky Notes (Lawn Fawn), Sour Apple (MFT) and Innocent Pink (Gina K Design): I cut strips of 0,5" width and I created my pattern. I used a Low Tack Masking Tape to have them "attached" together and then I cut the "panel" I created with the largest of the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1. I glued everyhing down on an A2 Smooth White panel in order to have a small white border around my pattern.

I added some clear iridescent stars at the centre of the card and I attached the giant speech bubble (I obviously added an acetate sheet behind it) with some foam tape, so that the stars could move. I then realized I would have loved some small sentiment strips around, so I white heat embossed some of the sentiments included in the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp on some Tropical Teal Carstock and I glued them down. And that's all!

Today I have a really simple card, but I absolutely love how it turned out.

I wanted to create a rainbow with the CELEBRATE letters, so I've firstly planned the "layout" of my card. I wanted to repeatedly stamp the celebrate word in the background, using a really light ink, and then have the rainbow in the lower half of my card.

I measured the size of the sentiment and I divided the A2 panel with some horizontal pencil marks: starting from the bottom at 1", 2", 3", 4" and 5,25". The reason of this different fifth measure is that I also wanted a bit of space under the rainbow for the black sentiment. I stamped all of the background words using Princess Pink Cube, it is the lightest color I have in my crafty stash.

I then layered the CELEBRATE on a stamping tool (it would be almost impossible to stamp all the letters with different colors otherwise) and I carefully masked the letters and stamped every single color. It took a bit, but I really loved the result!

At the end, I realized I could clear heat emboss the sentiment too, in order to give some shine...and that's what I did! For a better and smoother result, I added two layers of clear embossing.

I then stamped the black sentiment strip under the CELEBRATE word and I added a few clear sparkling sequins.

I loved the final result, but I decided to cut almost a quarter of an inch in both sides, and I matted it with a pattern from MSTN Rainbow Love Paper Pad. And here's the final result!
