Hi BRI friends, Sara here!

I am back with a new card, inspired by the July BRI Mood Board Challenge.

I really love this color palette, I think this is one of my favorite so far!

So, this is my inspiration!

This time, I started with the background. I wasn’t sure how to make my scene, I didn’t know what stamp to use, but I wanted to play with Ranger Alcohol Ink. I have a “love and hate” relationship with this medium, because I really love the result but I am afraid of the process because you cannot control it LOL. But I thought it was the perfect time to try them! So I took out three colors that matched the Mood Board: Poppy Field, Peach Bellini and Wild Plum. I used Yupo Paper and I started applying some blending solution and some drops of color. I knew I wanted to make a slimline, but I started with a bigger sheet, so I could decide what section I like more. I also knew I wanted to leave a large white space, so I put ink only on one corner. When I got the result I wanted, I stopped the process.

I then die cut the slimline using the Trinity Stamps – Modern Embossed Slimline and I decided what to create with the background. I took out a really recent purchase, the Big Birthday Wishes die from Mama Elephant and I die cut the "birthday wishes" script. I wanted a tone on tone effect, so I was careful to keep all the small pieces. I also die cut three times the same script from white cardstock, in order to create some depth behind the “final” layer.

At the end, I stamped the giant flying dragon from Me and my dragon stamp set and the smaller one from Dragon wishes and colored them with Copic markers, using the same colors of the palette (see below for color corde). I also white heat embossed the smallest sentiment on a piece of black cardstock: it was perfect to “coordinate” the birthday wishes with my scene.

As a finishing touch, I matted the scene with a 8,5”x3,75” piece of black cardstock.

I think it was a fun process, and I love how the card turned out (even if the Alcohol inks are soooo unpredictable!). I really hope you will like too.

Hugs from Italy!

Hi friends and happy Friday!

Here in Italy it is really hot and I'm really dreaming of Christmas! That's why I loved to join the "Christmas in July" movement, using Purple Onion Designs stamps.

I love bears and I couldn't resist this one, illustrated by Julian Charlton.

I had the idea to create a little frame around the bear, and I wanted to have only his "upper" part. As I also wanted to practise my no-line coloring, I stamped the bear using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Warm Glow, which is my go-to if I don't want the black line.

I then colored the bear, his sweater and the light blue background. When I do no-line, I usually add many details using Polychromos Pencils, like all the patterns in the bear's sweater.

Now I was ready to create the frame, which was really simple to do. I used some blue and green-brown colors, I thought they were perfect for the palette I chose. I die cut the panel using the fourth largest Modern Embossed Rectangle die from Trinity Stamps.

To complete the card, I stamped the sentiment (which belongs to the same rubber stamp) and I matted the whole scene using a 4,25"x5,5" red cardstock.

That's all for today, thanks for stopping by. I really hope you will like it!

Hugs from Italy,

Hi crafty friends! The Miss Tiina line is finally back to the MFT shop! And it is packed with fun, sunshine and love!

There are some stamp sets, some dies, some stencils and some patterned paper too.

This is the card I made to celebrate this mini release, that features MSTN Hello Sunshine die and the Rippled Background.

I love background stamps, they always help you to create a simple background or add details to your colored cardstock. But this one is really versatile!

I started with my background, where I used a piece of Watercolor Paper. I firstly stamped half of the background using Versamark ink and I white heat embossed it. I then used four Karin Brushmarker colors to fill the "waves": 621 Sky Blue, 264 Arctic Blue, 204 Cool Aqua, 654 Turquoise. In the upper part, I ink blended the Distress Oxide in Mustard Seed using a blending brush.

I then moved to the little girl, that I stamped on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored using copics (see below for combos). I just wanted bright and bold colors! When she was colored, I die cut her using coordinating dies.

At the end, I took the newest MSTN Hello Sunshine die and die cut it from some Smooth White cardstock. I wanted my scene to "continue" through the holes but I added a layer of vellum to mute the colors.

I really love how my card turned out, and you?

Thanks for stopping by, be sure to check the MFT blog to see all the others inspirations and for a chance to win a 50$ shopping spree!
