Are you ready for a new MFT Release Countdown?

It's that time of the month again and today it is the first day of previews. The release will be live on August 10th at 10am EDT.

There are tons of new products, but today the Design Team is showcasing two stamp sets designed by Stacey Yacula and one by Tiddly Inks! Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the amazing DT creations!

And here it is my first card of the August Release, featuring two adorable sets designed by Stacey Yacula.

I've recently seen lots and lots of jungle themed stamps, so I couldn't resist to play with those Sweetest Safari critters!

When I have to start designing a card, I usually play with phisical stamps and I arrange them on a piece of paper until I get the scene I want. In this way, I can stamp only the things I need and I know what to do with colored images. This really helps me, especially with one-layer scenes.

I firstly stamped all my images on a piece of Transotype Perfect Coloring Paper using a copic friendly ink, and I started coloring them using copics. When I finished, I die cut all of them using coordinating dies.

I then moved to my background: I wanted really bold colors. I took out my Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmelade and Squeezed Lemonade using Blending Brushes. When I finished it, I realized I wanted to add some rays using the Ray of Lights stencil (I added them using Seedless Preserves). When I finished the background, I die cut it using the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle dies.

I then prepared the sentiment strip and I arranged all the critters and tropical foliage to my panel, using a mix of liquid glue and foam tape. To complete the card, I also matted it using a piece of 4,25"x5,5" Smooth Solar White cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like the card and be sure to check the MFT blog to leave a comment, for a chance to win a 75$ shopping spree!

Hi friends and happy Wednesday!

Purple Onion Designs is celebrating its 18th birthday and there's a Anniversary Sale through August, 9th! All rubber stamps are 25% off on their store, click here to the store!

If you check their website, you will see ton of amazing products, including the Elliot & Marcel collection designed by Julian Charlton.

And here it is my inspiration!

I just love this couple, they are so funny!

This elephant is really feeling blue, so what's better than a rainbow? Rainbows make everyone happy!

I firstly stamped the main image on a piece of Transotype Perfect Coloring paper and I sketched the rainbow. I firstly drew 7 stripes, but then decided to put less colors and I drew 5. I was inspired by my friend Alberto Gava (@loshakeratoalberto) who does amazing rainbow cards.

I then started coloring the elephant, using Neutral Greys. When I firstly started coloring, I saw many tutorials on Youtube and all of them suggested to buy Warm tones and Cold tones.I rarely use Cold Greys, they are too much "blue", too cold. If you want to invest in some new copic tones, I really suggest you the Neutral or the Toner series (one of them), because they are both the perfect shade between cold and warm.

Well, I then colored the monkey and then moved to my rainbow. I firstly started with light colors and then added more shading, especially under the elephant.

I tried to keep the card really simple, I didn't add a background. I only added a sentiment (which is sold together with the image): I white heat embossed it on a piece of black cardstock.

To complete the card, I matted the whole scene using black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the result!

Hi friends and happy Friday!

Today I'd like to share with you a card featuring Hello Bluebird products.

I just love pigs and this set is a must have! You may know I love copic coloring, but sometimes I also like to change and try different techniques.

In this case I really wanted a soft background, so I took out a piece of watercolor paper and I did some wet on wet using the Regular Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass. I didn't color all the background, but only the central part, and I also added some "splatters" around it. I also die cut the panel using the second largest die from the Modern Embossed Rectangle from Trinity Stamps.

I then moved to the main protagonist and all the smallest images: I firstly stamped all of them using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Warm Glow as I thought the no-line look would have been better. As I always do when I want the no-line effect, I firstly color the image using Copic markers (see below for all the combos) and then I use Polychromos pencils to add details and define the edges.

I die cut all the images and I arranged them on my scene, using foam tape to create some dimensions.

As a finishing touch, I stamped the small sentiment in the lower part and I matted the whole scene using a light blue cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it!
