Hi friends and happy Thursday!

Purple Onion Designs is celebrating its 18th birthday and there's a Anniversary Sale through August, 9th! All rubber stamps are 25% off on their store, click here to the store!

I made a few cards to celebrate their Anniversary and show their products, I cannot wait to show you what I've been working on.

I've never been in USA, but this card is totally inspired by American landscapes.

This Mini Bus stamp, illustrated by Stacey Yacula, is really beautiful and it can be used in a lot of different scenes.

I searched on Pinterest for references and I found one that was perfect for mine. I firstly stamped the bus on a piece of Transotype Perfect Coloring paper, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I usually stamp and color in a bigger format than the final one, so I can decide where to cut.

I then colored everything using Copics: I went for a really simple color palette, with greys and browns for the setting and a teal for the bus. I then die cut my scene to a 4"x7,5".

When everything was colored, I added the big die cut "hello" sentiment (Hello Script from Lawn Fawn) and I also completed it using a small strip above saying "driving by to say" which comes from a Lawn Fawn set too.

To complete the card, I added a small strip of black and white patterned paper at the left of my card.

I really hope you will like my inspiration, thanks for stopping by!

Hugs from Italy,

Hi crafty friends! The newest CELEBRATE YOU Card Kit is finally available for purchase!!

If you love creating birthday cards, this kit is waiting for you! The CELEBRATE YOU Card Kit includes:

  • Celebrate You Stamp Set

  • It's Your Day Stamp Set

  • Celebrate You Die-namics

  • It's Your Day Die-namics

  • Party Time Paper Pad

  • Card Stock - Smooth White (2), Kraft (2), Fire Coral, Amarena Cherry, Butterscotch, Prickly Pear, Jalapeño Popper, Summer Splash, Tropical Teal, Eiffel Tower

And now, let's move to my project!

A while ago, I saw a picture on Pinterest with an alligator's mouth open and many banners inside that were creating a sentiment. So, when I saw all the little banners of the kit, I instantly thought about it.

I firstly stamped on a piece of copy paper all the banners with a black ink, to understand how much space I needed and then I sketched the alligator's mouth. When I liked the result, I copied my drawing on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I started copic coloring. I went for a no-line look, and as always, I added some details with coordinated Polychromos pencils.

I then moved to my sentiments, especially the one contained in the banner.

As I wanted to coordinate with the patterned paper, I decided to use the same colors of the kit, so I took out some Premium Dye pads: Amarena Cherry, Fire Coral, Butterscotch, Prickly Pear, Jalapeño Popper, Summer Splash, Tropical Teal and Eiffel Tower. Here I realized I didn't have the P letter to create the "happy" word. I decided to stamp the letter R instead of P and to cover the small line with a similar pencil color.

When everything was stamped, I hand drew the lines of the banner's rope and I added the two small sentiments in the upper part and at the bottom.

To complete my card, I matted the whole scene with a piece of patterned paper from Party Time pad.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the result! Let me know what do you think and be sure to head over to the MFT blog: there is a bloghop and you can win a 50$ shopping spree!

Hugs from Italy,

Hi friends and happy Monday! Are you ready for some crafty news?

Purple Onion Designs is celebrating its 18th birthday and there's a Anniversary Sale starting today! All rubber stamps are 25% off on their store, click here to the store!

I have made a few cards to celebrate the Anniversary Sale, and today I would like to share with you my first one, which features Lucas, one of the pirate illustrated by Shari Bresciani. This collection went out last year, and I absolutely love her images! They are incredibily fun!

Well, I was inspired by an illustration I found on Pinterest, and I wanted to change a bit my image to fit in the scene. This is a quite big card, as the final result measures 5"x7".

I firstly stamped the pirate using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Warm Glow, which is mt go-to when I want to do some no-line coloring. I then drew all the ship: if you find some references, I must say it is not so difficult to do.

I then copic colored everything: you can find all the combo below. You may note that I haven't used so many colors, probably because I didn't want a realistic look but a "illustration" look.

As usual, when I finished coloring with copics, I added tone on tone details with Polychromos pencils, to define better my scene.

To complete my card, I white heat embossed the sentiment (which comes from Pirate-ments) ove a piece of yellow cardstock and I matted the whole scene using a larger piece of black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it!

Hugs from Italy,
