Are you ready for a new MFT Release Countdown?

It's that time of the month again and today it is the first day of previews. The release will be live on September 7th at 10am EDT.

There are tons of Christmassy new products, my favorite season at all to create cards. Today the Design Team is showcasing one stamp set designed by Stacey Yacula and one by Rachelle Anne Miller, as well as a new background stamp and patterned paper. Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the amazing DT creations!

And here it is my first card of the September Release, featuring the Away in a Manger stamp designed by Rachelle Anne Miller.

This is a really simple card, quite a CAS one. But I love the simplicity of this scene.

I've recently published a card with Northern lights and since I wanted a night sky background for this scene, I thought to create something similar. I firstly started with my background panel, a 4,75"x6" Transotype Perfect Coloring Paper and I masked the bottom part. I started applying Copics, adding layers of blue shades (you can find the combo below in the post) and leaving a lighter area at the centre. I then added some BG23 and RV06 in those areas, which created the light effect. I kept adding copic layers until I was happy with the result.

I then moved to the Holy Family, which I stamped on a piece of the same Transotype Perfect Coloring paper using a copic friendly ink. I colored all the protagonists, using traditional colors: brown for St Joseph, light blue and red for St Mary. I then die cut it with coordinating dies.

I then added it to the background panel and I stamped the sentiment at the bottom. I also stamped the star from the stamp set and colored with some Copic Opaque White.

To finish my card, I added some shining stars with White Gelly Roll pen and I framed it using the largest of the A2 Rectangle Frames form some Kraft Cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by! I really hope you will like the card and be sure to check the MFT blog to leave a comment, for a chance to win a 75$ shopping spree!

Hi crafty friends, happy Saturday!

I am back with a new card, inspired by the August BRI Mood Board Challenge.

As always, I am blown away by Amanda’s color palette, it is really really gorgeus. And this is my inspiration!

When I first saw the palette, I loved so much the combination but I couldn’t figure out how to use it. It is really particular, it has almost cold colors, so I knew I wouldn’t have used any brown critter. And then, showing the palette to my boyfriend, he said: northern lights! And he was totally right!

I recently purchased those Penguin Pals from Pretty Pink Posh and they were just the perfect match to the background I had in mind.

Believe or not, I did my background using only 5 Distress Ink colors: Dusty Concord, Seedless Preserves, Tumbled Glass, Shabby Sutters and Black Soot. I used Regular Distress Reinkers, but you could also use Distress Oxides ones (you will probably get a chalky and lighter result). I did some wet on wet technique onto some watercolor paper. I let the paper dry for about an hour and then added the mountains in the background. Before moving to the main protagonists of my scene, I die cut the panel using an A2 Stitched Rectangle die.

I stamped the couple of penguins on a piece of Neenah Solar White paper, using Gina K Amalgam Ink in Whisper, as I planned to do some no-line coloring. To copic color my penguins, I used some “unusual” shades, such as purple and light blue to perfectly match the Mood Board. And, as I usually do with no-line coloring, I defined the edges using some coordinated Polychromos Pencils.

To complete my card, I white heat embossed the sentiment (which comes from the Pretty Pink Posh Woodland Critters) and I matted the whole scene using a 4,5”x5,75” white cardstock.

I love the final result, I really hope you will like too. See you next month for another BRIMOODBOARD!

Hugs from Italy!

Hi crafty friends!

Can you believe we are only 4 months away from Christmas? 4 MONTHS!

I am sure this time will fly, I am going to move in a few weeks so I need to start preparing my Christmas card stash. That's why I am here showing you a Holiday themed card, featuring Purple Onion Designs products.

Last year I came across a Sandy Allnock IGtv tutorial creating a similar scene and as soon as I got this Minibus rubber stamp, I knew I would have created my own version.

I firstly stamped the Minibus on a piece of Transotype Perfect Coloring paper, being careful not to ink the bottom part (which will be hiding in the snow). I then masked the top and stamped the Presents. In this way they seems to be carrying the Holiday gifts. With scenes like this, I usually start with a large piece of paper, this was 4,5"x9".

I then colored the background as suggested in Sandy's tutorial: I must say it was really fun and I really love how the snow of the bottom part came to life!

When the background was ready, I also colored the stamped images, usually some typical Christmas colors like red and green. And I was ready for my favorite part: adding snow! Since those critters are driving through a snowy storm, my scene needed a lot of white spots. I've tried many white pens, but there are only two that I love because they are really white: White Gelly Roll pens (05-08-10) by Sakura, which are my absolutely favorite, and a 0.7uniPOSCA marker if I need something even bigger.

To complete the card, I die cut the panel using a slimline die (a sort of, because it measures 3,75"x7,75") and I white heat embossed the sentiment, which comes from a Honey Bee - Jingle all the way stamp set.

I also matted the scene using a small white border and a red frame.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the final result!
