Yay! The May MFT Release is now live!

The newest release is full of new products, it is really great and includes so many incredible new stamps and dies!

Today's project features the dreamy Thank My Lucky Stars stamp set.

I really love those kind of illustrations and I had the idea to create a sort of galaxy background.

I used Regular Distress Reinkers (Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Black Soot), they are super concentrated and the colors are really rich. I partially watercolored the background, adding a few drops of Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust in my "clear" water. In this way, all the background is filled with many many sparkles and I absolutely love that! It is really difficult to catch it in photos, but the real effect is WOW! I let it dry and I moved into the stamped images.

I stamped the main protagonists and a lot of stars on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored using Copics (you can find the full list below). I also die cut them using coordinating dies.

You may know I love playing with sentiments and this time is no exception: I took inspiration from one of the sentiments included in the set and I decided to give to the word STARS more importance, cutting it from the Connected Die-namics alphabet (when I created the background, I started from a bigger piece of cardstock so I had a colored strip left). I also used the star from All Occasion Icons Die-namics as the letter A.

I glued everything down and as a finishing touch I matted the scene with a patterned paper from MSTN Hip Hop Yay Pad.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it. Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the other product previews and for even more ideas and inspiration, please visit the My Favorite Things YouTube channel.

Have you already prepared your shopping list for the MFT May Release? It's the final countdown day and the release will go live tomorrow, at 10am EDT.

Today I have a happy and colorful card featuring the newest We're the Picture of Best Friends.

l absolutely loved this stamp set at first sight! Look at that bunny!

I firstly stamped him and his little friend on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I couldn't resist to create a rainbow with all of these stripes.

I then moved into the background, which I created with a custom made stencil. I took an A2 piece of Judikins Masking Roll and I created a "hole" tearing off the paper. I was inspired by a tutorial I saw on Instagram from Francine Vuillème. I then ink blended a rainbow using Regular Distress Inks: Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmelade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. I also grab another small piece of paper and I repeated the blending (I needed that for the FRIEND word).

I removed the mask and I die cut the FRIEND word from the Thank You for Being a Friend die. I also cut it from some black cardstock, which I layered behind with a small offset in order to create the shadow.

I added the two protagonists of my card and I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of my panel.

Here I realized there was too much "white space", even if I wanted a really simple card. I trimmed down two strips of 0.25" from both sides and I layered the panel over one of the Rainbow Love 6x6 Patterned Paper. I really loved that!

Are you ready for the MFT May Release? There are only 2 days until the release, which will be live on Tuesday 10th, at 10am EDT.

Today I am highlighting one of the newest illustrated by Rachelle Anne Miller.

This set is called Beautiful Bunny and it is so adorable! I wanted to keep my card simple, so I firstly started creating an ink blended background using Distress Oxides with blended brushes. I started from a 4,25"x4,25" piece of Smooth white cardstock and I blended the Warm Lipstick on one side and the Twisted Citron on the other; I also added some Moved Lawn to create more contrast.

I then cut the panel to 4"x4" and I let it dry.

In the meanwhile, I stamped and colored all the images I needed on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock (you can find the color combos below) and I cut them using coordinating dies. I arranged everything on my square panel and I glued them down with a mix of liquid glue and foam tape. I also added some clear sparkling sequins.

I arranged all the images on my square panel and I realized I could have used it on a regular A2 card. I added a strip of patterned paper from MSTN Pretty in Plaid Pad and I mixed two sentiments from the newest Everyday Scripted Greetings and the already released Itty Bitty Basics.

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like it. Be sure to check out the MFT blog to see all the other product previews and for even more ideas and inspiration, please visit the My Favorite Things YouTube channel.
