Hello Bluebird | Thanks a ton

Hi friends and welcome back! Today I'd like to show you one of my latest card, featuring Hello Bluebird Stamps products.

I went out of my comfort zone and I did a quite CAS card and I also did some watercoloring using Distress regular Inks. I wanted to create a "illustration" effect, something that remind me to children books, that's why I changed my usual medium.

I firstly colored the elephant using Pumice Stone and Hickory Smoke, then moved to the little ducks, where I used Frayed Burlap and Scattered Straw for their body and Rusty Hinge for their beaks. I also added some rosy cheeks using Victorian Velvet. I went for some desaturated colors, as I wanted to give a vintage feel.

I then moved to the giant leaf, where I added many layers to create the shadows and the movement. I used Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Moved Lawn, Pine Needles and some Rustic Wilderness.

So, I was ready to create the background: I did some wet on wet technique, so I firstly wet the paper using some clear water and then added the ink. I used Broken China and Tumbled Glass for the sky and Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss for the grass. I tried to create soft edges, as I didn't want a "heavy" border.

I was ready to add rain: I used two types of white pen: a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen #8 for a brighter white and a Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pen brush for a softer white.

To complete my card, I stamped the small sentiment below the scene and I matted everything using some dark grey cardstock.

I really hope you will like the result! Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs from Italy,
